Although we are already well into the summer holidays, mine doesn’t start until the 6th August but I still absolutely love the summer holidays! I really do. Even with the blazing hot sun that burns so easily – I don’t tan what so ever – there is so much we can do with the kids and so much we can teach them whilst they play. The reason I like the summer holidays so much though is the positive that the good weather brings. So to take advantage of this energy I have made a plan and a goal to get fitter this summer!
Have you got a holiday planned?
Part of my plan this summer is to take up the Clean 9 challenge for a second time this year. The first time round I found it hard because I didn’t feel under control or very organised at all. I didn’t plan and prepare which created a bit of chaos in my challenge that I’d set myself. It is essential to plan and prepare ahead.
This time, however, I have just under a week before I am on holiday from my day job and I am determined to kick those extra pounds and get myself fit enough to run around like a headless chicken after my two little adorable monsters as they try EVERYTHING that they shouldn’t – as they do!
It’s not just my children though that this would benefit. I spend most of my waking hours sat at a desk, on the computer being all geeky with my coding. I love it! But a desk job can easily put us into ‘lazy bone syndrome’ – not a real illness – which is rather hard to get out of if we let ourselves become that way.
Why the Sudden Change
My eldest son said one evening, “I don’t want pudding, I want an apple like mummy”. This got me thinking about what we are teaching our children without thinking it is affecting them.
Think for a moment. If your child saw you eating chocolate cake near enough everyday – I don’t like chocolate so this IS just an example – do you think they would ignore the cake and reach for an apple instead? Or do you think they would follow you and eat the cake too? Luckily I naturally choose fruit over ice cream the majority of the time but it would be a different story if I didn’t.
I want my children to know why we eat what we need to eat and why we should avoid eating too many nasties like sugar. So changing the way I am will help them to make better choices in their diet.
So How can You Join in?
Everyone is welcome to join in and help one another to reach their fitness goals. There is a Facebook group full of individuals from across my team who have all been posting their experiences using the Clean 9 and I invite you to join in with us.
The Clean 9 is a great way to ‘reset’ those eating habits and make better choices for a better you. You don’t have to stop there either, we have a whole range of products to help you on your fitness journey.
