When day 3 of the Clean 9 rolled round my excitement must have doubled my energy levels because I knew the hardest part is over! I’m not saying the rest of the program will be easy as nothing worth having is ‘easy’ but it has been much easier than the first 2 days – if you can do them, you can do anything.
On day 3 I was back to work – being a Monday and all – so it was easier to control what I ate as the ‘snack cupboard’ doesn’t exist at work. I had my vanilla shake with an orange and apple for snacks between meals – from the free food list. For dinner that day I chose a simple meal, for my children to enjoy, good old sausage and chips – my portion was considerably less than everyone else’s. I added some vegetables from the free food list as a sort of filler just in case I didn’t have enough to eat as well.
Since I don’t have the time in the morning to do exercise, I do mine in the evening – although I do have a brisk walk to and from the car when I go to work which does count as light exercise!
I’m a fan of Pilates and Yoga so it just made sense that one of those should be my chosen exercise. Yoga was in this case and it will be Pilates on Wednesday or Thursday if time permits to do so.
For day 4, my chosen fruit for snacks were an apple and an orange again as it work out so well for day 3. The fibre sachet counts as a snack too and honestly it really does make a difference in keeping my stomach fuller for longer.
My two boys absolutely love fresh vegetables – luckily for me – so for day 4, I made us all a nice stir fry with some chicken left over from the Sunday. I made the boys some cheese on Mediterranean loaf as well which seemed to go down quite well with them – resisting temptation to eat that cheese was so hard!
For exercise, I stuck with the brisk walks and housework since it needed doing – I put more effort into it than I usually do to make up for some light exercise!
Day 5 I felt great about my change in body shape – and still do. I don’t know how much I weigh as I am going to wait until the end to show the weight and measurements but I know that my goal is to tone up rather than loose weight and with this in mind, my weight might be up and down quite a bit.
I didn’t cook my dinner today, it was cooked for me so I had no control over what it was. We had pie and chips – not my chosen meal but I am grateful for it being made for me. I added lots of carrot sticks to make this a healthier meal and made sure I didn’t have too many chips!
Exercise for Day 5 was Pilates which I use my Xbox Fitness program for – Pilates seems to be my favourite exercise so far since you don’t really realise your exercising! – until the next day..
On to the last few days!
